IFNULL statement points to a column value

Is it possible to return the value in a column when the value is null?

Example if in Row NORTH since Total Sales is NULL then show the value in Regional Sales.

      TOTAL SALESREGIONAL SALES
      NORTH NULL1750
      EAST 1000NULL
      WEST 5000025000
      SOUTH1250950

The only examples I see is to show an expression such as if Total Sales is null then "No Sales"
