    Online User Account Access

    dean.knickerbocker

      Hi all

I ran into an interesting issue tonight when configuring an online user for a demo.  I added a user to give out to people for my demo.  But I misspelled something so I decided to delete it and  then added it back.  So the user is in my user list, but when I login now it simply says

      "This account has been disabled

Please contact your administrator if you have any questions. "
Since I am the administrator, I am completely baffled as to what to do.  Anyone have any ideas?

      Thanks
      Dean

The easiest thing to try is to restart the server (while holding fingers crossed, clover leaves can also be used).

If that doesn't work, then I'd contact Tableau Support. Server should not allow deletion/disablement of a sole admin account.

No idea but this is what I'd do:

            • Remove/delete the user account.

            • Wait 5 minutes to let the Tableau internal db do it's busy work (I've noticed that it's not always instantaneous).

            • Add the account.

            • Wait 5 minutes to let the Tableau internal db do it's busy work.

            • Test.

If it fails again then contact support.
