Alex Kerin Jun 24, 2013 10:48 AM (in response to Daniel Carr)You can achieve the same using previous_value as the product. See the attached. Note the use of table calcs requires the advanced "compute using" to make sure you get the right result. As you move/add/remove pills this may have to change:

product.twbx.zip 40.3 KB

Daniel Carr Jun 24, 2013 4:31 PM (in response to Alex Kerin)Thanks Alex! Let us play around with this for a bit. Then, if it still looks good we'll mark this as the correct answer.

gioel.molinari Sep 7, 2013 4:05 PM (in response to Alex Kerin)Thanks Alex Kerin this is very useful.
I am trying to setup a similar thing but with an additional variation: a table that shows cumulative returns over a 6 month window calculated using daily return time series.
I was looking for a window_product() function which would make this easy but is not available. Your solution seems close although I want to modify it so that the calculation is done over a rolling window instead of using the full history. I guess this could be done through a date filter in the worksheet in Tableau such that the data flowing into my table is only the one i want to calculate on. Is there any other way to do this that you can think of?thanks much!
