I suspect this refers to the Tableau Online product that is currently in Beta, which is the same as Server features, only it's hosted by Tableau so the customer doesn't have to do any machine setup and very little admin. I suspect there will be some limits on how under-the-covers you can get (admin permissions) since T would want you messing up their server. But it seems to be an excellent option for mid to small companies. I'm trying to talk some of my clients into it (once it's released).
Thanks for the direction..If you can share a document or a link that speaks about Cloud computing features that Tableau has..this will be very useful for us.
Hi Angel,Sorry no one got back to you sooner. Tableau Online is our product that offers the cloud computing features you speak of. It's basically a saas version of Tableau Server. You still publish dashboards with Tableau Desktop, but with Tableau Online no hardware is required to share, collaborate, or view.
Here are some documents on Tableau Online, and cloud-based analytics software in general:You can try out a trial site of Tableau Online here: http://www.tableau.com/products/online
I hope this answered your question!--Lucas
