In Tableau 7 can I block a display if a filtered query returns fewer data points than a set threshhold? For example if the threshold was considered 10, I would want to display a message "Not Enough Data" but if the there were 11 or more data points returned, then the chart would be rendered.
This is an interactive report and stakeholders have negotiated the we won't report in situations where there are fewer than 10 datapoints to maintain a level of anonimity for the user data that is being explored.
A calculated field can be created that will allow for the data to be shown or not shown, however, no warning message will be displayed. A calculated field similar to the following would be created and placed on the filter shelf:
if sum([Threshold])<=10 then "Don't Show" else "Show" end
