Take a look at this help topic and it should get you sorted.
Essentially, you'll "import" your list of addresses-to-lat/lon information and then you'll be ready to roll:
I have done these steps but am not sure I guess how to pull them into the map...under detail?
If you imported the Latitude & Longitude fields, make sure that they have a globe symbol to the left of the field name. If not, right click on it, indicate that it is a geographic field of the latitudinal or longitudinal type. Once you've done that, (and assuming you are starting with a new worksheet), simply highlight your imported Lat & Lon fields (not the "generated" Lat & Lon fields), then select the map or filled map sheet options. Or in a new workbook, simply place Lat on Rows, Lon on Columns.
If working within an existing workbook, swap out the Lat (generated) with your Latitude and Lon (generated) with your Longitude field.
