When we say current month, Tableau takes the "month" part from system date and displays the month from the current system date.
Please find the attached file where the date filed displays current month.
Hope it helps!!!
Date mOnth.twbx.zip 1.1 MB
I might need to clarify a little bit...
Then what I really need to have is the LAST MONTH available in the DATE dimension, selected by default...and NOT actually the current SYSTEM date month
This means, if I have March as the last month available in the DATE dimension, then Tableau selects it automatically and display it in the visualizations as the default item selected, regardless the SYSTEM date's Month (April, May, etc...)
HI Armando, I'm currently facing the same situation. In case you have found a solution, please let me know.
Post a separate question on the forums, and upload a packaged workbook along with a detailed description of what you need, what you've done to try to get there, etc. You are FAR more likely to get a response this way.
it is true that a discrete quick filter will not update to the most recent data in your data after refreshing an extract, but there are lots of clever workarounds people have used in place of this. If you post your question, someone MAY be able to help you. You'll never know unless you pose your question!
