Tableau can be used for real time visualisation as it will connect directly to your data stores without having to load everything into memory!
Hitting F5 will refresh the connection, or any interaction with the visualsation will fetch new data.
Be aware that live connections may cause performance issues if you do not have an indexed / optimized back end! In this case tde's are recommended.
Thanks Tim for your instant reply. The data iam talking about will not be coming from any data stores. infact it will be the o/p data stream that will be forwarded to tableau. The stream will be the result of some processing on real time data.
Hi Sayongita -
No, Tableau isn't really built to deal with streaming data coming through a CEP mechanism of some sort. We need to the data "landed" somewhere, at which point we can connect to it.
