Hi, I just started using Tableau yesterday and am hoping I'm overlooking an easy answer! I'd like to calculate a new field that identifies the lower and upper 25% of a value distribution as well as the interquartile tange (25-75%) of a given variable. The idea would be to be able to use this field to partition any of my numeric variables that have different value ranges. I looked at the reference lines but not sure that's the right approach. One of the videos mentions using the Index() function in the last 30 seconds but unfortunately then stops If I could index 0-25 = 1, 25.1-75 = 2 and 75.1-100 = 3, that would do the trick.

Any help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance. Julia
