For more than 100 cells, what is the reason to use an annotation instead of using a label or a text mark type?
the reason i want to use an annotation instead of using a label or a text mark type is because i have a requirement where i need to show numbers as well as sparklines in same worksheet,In tableau when we change the mark type to line entire numbers are converted to line chart but i want one column to show only numbers so i am using annotation and hiding the sparkline
Did you see my response in your other thread about about combining sparklines and numbers? http://community.tableau.com/thread/123799
Would that approach work? Maybe if you could post a packaged workbook using sample (dummy) data, that would help to see what you are trying to do.
i will try your appoach and let you know
how did you dragged that lastmonthsales calculation to display number in that format ?
when i drag it was showing in axis format in green
The main thing to remember is that a continuous field on Rows or Columns will create an axis. A discrete value will create a row/column header (and give you rows or columns).
You can tell which fields are discrete or continuous by their color. Blue is discrete, green is continuous. You can change a continuous field to a discrete field by right clicking and selecting "Discrete". In your case, you'll want to change "Last Month's Sales" to Discrete if you want it to be values in Row instead of an axis.
Here you can see that SUM(Sales) is creating an axis because it is continuous, but Total Sales is creating a row header with values in each row.
