I have an event coming up in a few months, where we'll have about a dozen people doing parallel analysis of a dataset for 6 hours while that dataset is still being updated every 5-10 minute or so.
I will be at a computer updating the live dataset that my original visualizations / dashboard is attached to, updating every few minutes. the other participants may want to look at those visualizations, each using different filters.
Is there a way for the published viz to stay up to date, and that the users will just need to refresh their browser to see the latest and greatest?
I currently don't have access to Tableau Server... just publishing via Tableau public.
You'd need to re-publish the data set to Tableau Public every few minutes. If you really want live data, you'd need Tableau Server. I know some of the Tableau consultancies offer Tableau as a SaaS option, you might try talking with them about the project.
