    Dynamic sets / create directly?

    Anthony Krinsky

It seems that creating dynamic sets (top "N" for instance) requires first creating a Filter and then dragging it to the Sets panel.

This technique is not hard -- if you know about it. Why not make this option available from a right-click "create set" method?

          Hi Anthony,

Can you help me understand the issue more clearly?  I want to make sure that I'm understanding correctly.

For me, this option is available from the right-click "create set" method.

          1. Right click on a dimension in the Dimensions Data window.
          2. Select Create Set...
          3. Click the "Top" tab (far right of general and condition)
          4. Choose By Field: radio button and choose your Top N condition.

Is this what you mean or something else?

          thanks,

          Jun

Yip, that's where it should be!!!  I was looking for it in the white space where the set would appear after being created!  I moved the question out of the public forum because I feel so stupid for asking.

What about the double-click to "keep only."

The traditional BI approach is to assume double-click will drill.

If no drill is possible, double clicking would do nothing.

"Keep only" is always available from the right-click anyway.

            Thoughts?

              Hi Anthony,

That happens to me all the time!  I usually end up finding it after i email someone

We've talked about removing double-click to go only.  You are absolutely correct, it is available from the right-click and ubertip.  We have to do some more investigation from other users to remove double-click as default action for keep only and consider fixing other areas that we have bugs on as well.  I will keep you updated.
