When you are publishing the workbook from Tableau Desktop to Server, check the "Show Sheets as Tabs" box under options in the Publish Dialogue box.
I need to know whether we can use Action Filters with a workbook which we want to publish without showing tabs on the Tableau Server. I built a workbook which has so many navigation buttons between different dashboards. I published it on the server w/o tabs and the navigation doesn't work. I published the same workbook with tabs and the navigation works fine. Is it a limitation from Tableau?
Hi Anshul, Action to another dashboards just work if you select Show sheets as tabs.
You can also use a URL parameter while sharing the link by adding in the end &:tabs=no which will hide the tabs and allow you to use the action filters as the only navigation option instead of showing the tabs to the user. This will give you a complete website like navigation for your dashboard and you can add Previous/Next/Home options as well.
