Hey Cheryl -
Tableau Server does not rely on Windows Failover Clustering in order to be highly available. We try and keep it much more simple.
Also, Tableau Server supports HA without any additional cost to you - it's just in there
You can find more info here: http://www.tableausoftware.com/learn/whitepapers/ensuring-high-availability
Why don't you give the info above a read, and let us know if you have any questions.
I work for a big corporation, and it is very hard to secure Hardware, in fact we don't even get access to the boxes; we have to raise a request and start a project for every single little thing. Pretty annoying.
Anyhow, I have two servers, which are unfortunately in a Win2008 Cluster environment - ideally we will remove the cluster and install Tableau Server, but apparently this is a 6 month project. I know that in the past, Tableau did not support WinClustering, but I was wondering if this has changed? Or if it is there some documentation around this topic ( I have not been able to find it).
