Comparing two workbook versions in tableau

    Nayana Wagle

      Hi,

Is there a way to have version control in Tableau by having the ability to compare one version of the workbook with the next?

      Thanks!

          Nayana,

Currently there is no versioning control within Tableau. As such, there is no comparison tool.

One thing that I do to keep track of versions of a workbook is to create a separate worksheet (that I add to the dashboard) that is used strictly to house a tooltip that contains information about versioning and how to contact the author of the dashboard. As versions change, I update the tooltip to include the changes made in the current version. If you run out of space within a single tooltip, you might consider multiple worksheets that contain versioning info.

If you need me to explain this method further, please let me know.

          I hope this helps,
