    got a prob with parameters

    chris Mich
I have created a parameter to exclude the State from the view. But at the same time I would also like to exclude the other regions from that view. Could you please help me figure out this issue.

      Eg:

I have created a parameter to include and exclude values. I have created one on the STATE.

When I select IOWA, it is getting excluded on the view below. But, at the same time I would like to exclude the other regions and keep the CENTRAL region excluding IOWA state.

      data would show as follows

      [Region]     [State]

      Central        Kansas
      Central   Iowa
      Central   MO
      East      Delaware
      East      MA

I have a parameter called Filter1 which has a list of states. If I type IOWA into it I want to see
it disappear from the Central list and show the other 2.
However I dont want to see any of the states for any other region except CENTRAL in this case.

      filter statement used

IF [State] != [Filter1] THEN "Show"
ELSEIF [Category] = [Filter On] AND [Region] != [Filter On] THEN "Show"
      ELSE "Hide" END

[Filter on] contains a list of region values ie Central , East

what I'd like to do is enter a state eg IOWA and get a result that does this

      [Region]     [State]

      Central        Kansas
      Central   MO

I've been racking my brains all day on this!
