I had some troubles calculating time in this instance and was wondering the best way to go about it. Also, I thought I'd pass out some data downloaded from my GPS watch from the first part of a marathon. Please feel free to play with it and manipulate in fun ways! I was playing a bit, but got stuck on "pace". Tableau defaulted it to date/time hierarchy and would not create just mines/seconds pills. My first visualization was PACE vs. HR, and the y-axis ranging from 5-10minutes/mile. If you solve it, let me know! I think this is another exciting application for Tableau because it bridges athletics and data. It could give some real insights to training and it's effectiveness. Plus, its fun to collect your own data!
Bonus: Does anyone know if I could hack my watch to read every second of GPS data collected to map it? Would something as specific as precise longitude and latitude not ever register with the WMS server? Thanks! Enjoy!
