Hi Nimesh -
This doesn't appear to be working as expected. Can you upload the original workbook so I can test it on another machine?
I swear this was working last week or week before, it just stopped working. Attached is the workbook, I didn't attach the original as that had too many sheets, this one uses the same data set.
Did you upgrade to 7.08 recently? I'm seeing the same behavior as you on my 7.08 server, and I even created a new, simplified test case.
I threw the same workbook on my 7.07 server and works, however. Maybe a bug?
I've asked the fine folks in product support to check my work and will let you know if they see the same thing that I do...
Wow, they're fast
It is indeed a regression. Looks like it has already been fixed, and I'd expect it to roll out in the next revision.
I actually use Tableau Digital, maybe they upgraded in the back end. Just didn't inform the users?
Thanks for helping
Are you saying it has been fixed or will it be fixed in the next version as it does not work right now?
Tableau Digital is sort of a different animal. However, it is based on the "corporate" version, which was updated in the 3rd week of September.
It is broken in the current corporate version (7.0.8). You'll likely see the fix which has been created in 7.0.9. I can't/won't give you a firm date on when it will be available, but you can use history as a guide:
I don't know when these "corporate" fixes will hit Digital.
I wish i could go back to the older version, oh well Thanks for your help.
We're definitely aware of the issue with URL filters not passing correctly as Russell pointed out and are just as focused on correcting it in Tableau Public/Digital as we are in the corporate version.
Any update on this?
This has been resolved.
Examining the URL filters Nimesh pasted above, they behave as expected.
Is this problem fixed for Tableau Public?
I've been having problems with spaces in parameter and other names, and in data, when trying to pass filters in a url.
For example, this works (having no space):
but this one doesn't
the only difference being that the value 'Other Europe' has a space in it.
What am I doing wrong? (I'm using Safari, but the same problem happens in Chrome & Firefox).
