This error message indicates that the Vertica driver is failing, likely due to a missing Windows system or driver component (perhaps vertica_6.0_odbc_3.5.dll?). The error is not related to, or caused by, Tableau in any way.
As a first step for troubleshooting, I would recommend reinstalling the driver. If views still fail to load after reinstalling the driver and restarting Tableau Server, then additional troubleshooting steps will be required.

Just to help complete this thread, I have had this issue on our Win2008 R2 64Bit server and 7.0.8 Tab Server, with Vertica 6.0.1 drivers ( I tried 32bit and 64 bit but it wasn't working)
I got some clues of the issue by installing Tableau Client and saw the same message (side-by-side) again.
VizQL processes, in Tableau Server 7.0.8, have the *32 by them indicating it was 32bit.
Vertica 6.0.1 drivers 32bit installed
What was missing for me was the Microsoft redistributable components required by Vertica 6.0.1 (32bit) to function (I couldn't even start the vsql ).
My process was:
Install the 32bit (x86) Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 redistributable components from Microsoft
Install the Vertica 6.0.1 32bit drivers
Then was able to see my Vertica 6 DB workbooks working from Tableau Server.
