Barry I just cut/paste your first STR() and it worked fine, the syntax is correct. So there must be something else going on here. Can you post a packaged workbook? Or mock up the problem using the Superstore data?
I solved the issue for the % yes and record count display, but still can't figure out the issue with the average response and record count display. Hopefully this subset of data will give you what you need to help me figure it out..... Thanks in advance for your help......
One way around this is to change the calculation to look like the following:
+ STR(COUNTD(['Q7 8 11$'_Registration Id]))
Hope this helps!
Unfortunately, for some reason the rounding doesn't always match the calculated average in the tooltip......i.e. 9.35 vs. 9.36.... it's minor, but......
FYI, here is the final solution I received from Tableau support:
I see what you mean. I've been playing with the equations, using the following post as a reference:
It looks like Tableau behaves as expected when using round((),0). I used the following equations to format the percentages. Please see the attached workbook for further reference.
left([Part 1],len([Part 1])-2)+"."+right([Part 1],2)
Multi-step calc string
+ STR([Distinct Registration ID Count])
