Nice to know I found a bug in my first couple weeks! That is exactly what I'm seeing. I wish I could use the 2 separate measures, but with how my data is formatted I don't think that will work. The solution you got from tech support may work perfectly. I'll give it a try.
Hi Shawn Wallwork,
Thanks for this description!
I'm using a live connection to the database, but I'm still getting an error for RAWSQL. I've created a parameter to toggle between Revenue and Units. I'd like to display a dollar sign just when Revenue is selected. Thoughts on how I can achieve this?
Not all databases support RAWSQL. You'll need to check your DB documentation.
Edit: Since we can now put multiple fields on the Text/Label shelf we can create individual calculations and format each differently. Something like this:
IF [My Parameter] = 'Dollars' THEN SUM([Sales]) END
IF [My Parameter] = 'Percent' THEN MAX([Profit Ratio]) END
Put these on the same line in the Text box editor, and only one of them will show (since the other one will be Null).
I have few metrics and an absolute value for each of them. As of now, all the absolute values are in number format. I need some metrics to be displayed as a percent while some as seconds.
metric abc - 1000 secs ( Present value 1000)
metric cs/cs14 - 10.01% (Present value 1001)
Note: I have an extract connection.
I know case statement would work but I'm not getting it right. Please help me.
Thanks in advance
In the attached workbook I used the multiple pills on Text method to create three fields with three different number formats with one example metric each. Note that at present the numbers are all measures aggregated with SUM() and since there are multiple records for each combination of dimension(s) in the view that means their values are 2x, 4x, etc. that of the Absolute field. I'm not sure of what your goal is so you'd need to use a different aggregation, use those values as a dimension instead, or something else.
v2018.3 workbook is attached.
