Are you referring to an image that is inserted into a dashboard? There is no border that is added to an image here. My guess is that the frame is on your image, in which case, editing the actual image before inserting it into Tableau would solve the issue. Please let me know if I've misunderstood, hope this helps!
No, I'm referring to a pie chart generated in a "sheet" (in the specific case) and then published in a dashboard.
As you can see in the previous picture, I obtain a framed pie chart.
I need to remove that frame. I hope my scenario is clearer.

It's possible that the frame is coming from the formatting of the Layout Container in which that view is contained. Highlight that view and from the drop-down choose Select Layout Container, then from the drop-down again choose Format Container. In the format window make sure the Border is set to None.

Tim, I removed the frame by setting to 'None' all the column and row borders.
At the sheet level--> borders-->Pane..
