Publishing data extracts to Server 7.0 for large data sets

      Hi all

We have a fairly large set of data sitting in an Oracle database. I am testing out whether we could use Tableau Server 7 as a data proxy so that we can avoid hitting the database repeatedly. I believe that the way to do that is to publish an extract to the server so that I can manage refreshes between the Server and Oracle. My challenge is that when I create the extract on my client, the client attempts to download the entire data set to my local PC. Is there a way that I can save the extract definition (but without the data) and then publish it to the server and then refresh the data on the server?

I have tried using data limits in the extract - this helps me to publish the extract to the server, but I am unsure how I can turn off the limits once the extract is on the Server.

      Does anyone have any ideas?

      Thanks in advance
