Hi Tableau Community,
I had a general question on the functionality of date levels in Tableau. I have pasted an example worksheet below. My question is whether or not it is possible to remove the gray lines between the years and have the data series be continuously connected (i.e. 2006Q4 connects with 2007Q1). I know that you can create calculated variables to mimic the view, but I was wondering if it is at all possible to still use Tableau's very easy date level functionality but just remove the gray lines and make the data continuous.
Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide!
1. Remove Quarter(Order Date) from the Columns shelf.
2. Click on the Year(Order Date) and select the 2nd Quarter (Q2 2011) in the menu. That should solve it.
Essentially, the first set of dates are discrete values, while the second set are continuous and won't break each section with grey bars.
