My thought is that it should be possible to use the htdocs directory on the Apache server (part of native Tableau install) to host content like this. I'll be digging into something similar over the next week. What I am not sure of though is the implications of upgrades on content deployed to such a location.
Might need to put content in a separate location and change some things in the config files just to provide better segmentation between the vendor solution and non-tableau-generated content.
Anyone else go down this road and have some tips?
Update on this:
After looking at the Apache config file and seeing all of the rewrites that were in place I didn't want to break anything inadvertantly with changes I wanted to make.
So I opted to use an instance of IIS that was handy, created a new virtual directory and placed my "auto-refresh" .html pages in that location.
