Shawn Wallwork Feb 3, 2012 7:58 PM (in response to dana.komar)Dana, sounds doable, but you'll need to attach a package workbook (.twbx) the .twb files don't contain your data so we can't see what you're doing.

Shawn Wallwork Feb 3, 2012 10:04 PM (in response to dana.komar)Dana, not a problem even the oldhands do that once in a while. Yes the file works fine, but it's getting late here so my brains not working. I'll take a look in the morning. Good Night.

4. Re: How do I show percent difference between two sums in a table
Shawn Wallwork Feb 4, 2012 5:06 AM (in response to dana.komar)Dana, OK I had a look, and this is definitely not a simple question. I think I got a few of things you requested into your table, without putting the date field into the column header, but when it comes to using table calculations I'm completely lost. I noticed that both Joe and Richard checked in yesterday, so maybe this will catch their interest.
Sorry I couldn't help more,
Shawn

5. Re: How do I show percent difference between two sums in a table
dana.komar Feb 4, 2012 5:26 AM (in response to Shawn Wallwork)Thanks for trying! I think I actually figured it out.
I set up a table Difference From calculation using the prior month field. I set it to calculating the difference across Cell and the value as difference of First. I edited the calculation so that the first sum is the sum of the current month and divided the difference by the sum of the prior month. It worked! Here are the resulting equations:
% change from Prior Month: (ZN(SUM([CustomerCount])) LOOKUP(ZN(SUM([Customer Count Prior Month])), FIRST()))/ZN(SUM([Customer Count Prior Month]))
% change from Prior Year: (ZN(SUM([CustomerCount])) LOOKUP(ZN(SUM([Customer Count Prior Year])), FIRST()))/ZN(SUM([Customer Count Prior Year]))
The only problem is when I duplicated the sheet and tried to replace my column header with a different field, the calculations didn't work, so I had to redo the calculation for the new header, starting again with a Difference From calculation. I attached the file if you want to look at it.
Thanks again!

Shawn Wallwork Feb 4, 2012 8:04 AM (in response to dana.komar)Dana, glad you got it worked out, and thanks for sharing. I'll dive in and see if I can't learn a little more about tablecalcs.
