Using Two Data Sources But Not Linking Them

I have a Workbook that I'm designing that connects to two tables in a live database. The two data sources are being used separately, for different Dashboards, but they do have some fields in common. When I add the second data source in, it seems to automatically link the common fields together. This is causing all of my dashboards to run queries against the secondary data source whenever I use a field that exists in both data sources, which is wasting a lot of time. I should also mention that initial page of the workbook is a set of global filters, one of which is from the secondary data source. I have made sure that all of the worksheets were created using the correct data sources.

Is there a way to connect to multiple data sources in the same workbook, but not have them linked?
