    Trouble shoot polygon-shaded maps

    Hock Gan

I am trying to plot the boundaries of the Auckland Council Wards (in New Zealand). However the map that I have generated from Tableau

has a number of straight lines which should not have been part of the boundary. The file auckland_wards.jpg file shows what the boundararies should actually look like compared to those generated by Tableau. I have also attached the Tableau workbook and the associated excel data file. Given that

some of the wards also include islands, I wondered if the lines could have resulted from point orders than ran from the mainland to the islands?
