guest contributor Aug 18, 2011 2:00 PM (in response to Jeremy Alexander)We are facing the same issue. Is there a timeline on when we can expect 6.1.1 to be released. Also for minor releases how can we be notified of updates ?
Thanks

Tableau is a 32-bit app which requires that you install the 32-bit Vertica drivers.

quinngil Aug 19, 2011 1:44 PM (in response to Jeremy Alexander)Thank you, Robert. that solved my problem for 6.1.1. I didn't have the 32bit drivers installed.
I'd be curious for the reason why 6.0.7 worked with only 64bit drivers installed and 6.1.1 didn't.

It is not possible that Tableau 6.0.7 used the 64-bit drivers, but it may have successfully used older 32-bit Vertica drivers. In 6.1 we had to introduce stricter requirements for using compatible Vertica drivers for each Vertica server version, so Tableau 6.1 was no longer able to take advantage of older drivers you had installed. You may have used 6.0.7 successfully with older Vertica drivers by not leveraging certain functionality in Tableau, but the problems were certainly present then.

mark.warner Apr 9, 2012 6:38 AM (in response to Jeremy Alexander)Tableau 6.1.8 and Tableau 7.0.2 which are the fixed maintenance releases which support Vertica 5.1 via the native connector. Tableau customers should be able to get this from normal downloads. For release histories go here http://www.tableausoftware.com/support/releases.

Joyo Wijaya May 8, 2013 2:47 PM (in response to mark.warner)I am getting this in Tableau 8 even after I installed the driver: mysql-connector-odbc-5.2.5-win32.msi
A regression perhaps?
