Let's see, don't we have a README on embedding included with the installed files somewhere? Ah here we go, try looking in Tableau Server\4.1\extras\embedding
If you've got Active Directory auth, you can use that to "skip the login screen". If not, that's when you can get into "trusted" authentication, where your application does the login instead of users.
I want README on embedding for Asp.Net web application.
Can you provide me?
The trusted_README.txt is generic and specified in terms of HTTP requests. The Java, PHP, Ruby, and Sharepoint reference implementations are provided for convenience, but by reading those you should be able to get a good feel for how to perform trusted authentication with your own web application.
I am new on tableaus web application tool and intrested to know how to integrate this tool with my asp.net (VS 2005) application. please help me out.
Thanks in advance.
It would be nice a detailed process to deploy the Tableau reports in a .Net application is provided.
Can any please suggest?
did you get any response?
Not sure if this would help anyone, but thought I would toss it out here.
1) Publish your dashboard to your tableau server
2) Open your .NET application and create a new aspx page
a) I based mine on a master page
b) In the content2 placeholder insert the following:
<iframe src="https://yourtableauserver/views/dashboardname/sheetname/Interactive?:embed=yes" width="100%" height="600" frameborder=0></iframe>
This will embed your dashboard into that page. You'll need permission on the tableau server and be required to login in order to view the dashboard. You can play around with trying to get the AD integrated so your users won't be required to login.
Hope it helps someone.
