Subodh would you mind sharing your tableau workbook whenever you have a moment with the second answers attached?
Thanks much in advance-
John -- out of curiosity if I have a set that is only pulling in the top 10 sales will this work the same way? For some reason I'm having a bit of trouble getting the order of your table calculation pictured...
At work already and can't upload anything from here.
I could do it today evening.
How are you determining top 10?
Also, I've attached a workbook that is based on Subodh's approach.
Here are the steps:
Step One: Drag Cust Name to columns
Step Two: Drag Year of Inv Date to Dimensions
Step Three: Drag Year of Inv Date to columns
Step Four: Drag Sales to Rows (it should auto aggregate to SUM(Sales)
Step Five: Drag another copy of Sales from measures Sales to Text on the Marks card
Step Six: Drag another copy of Year of Inv Date to Color
Step Seven: Right Click on Cust Name on the Columns Shelf->Sort-> and set up like this:
Step Eight: Right-Click on Year of Inv Date on the Columns Shelf->Sort-> and set up like this:
Now it should look just like the last image Sobodh posted.
