1. Re: Tableau get rid of bottom header. Unclick show headers does not work.
Soumitra Godbole Aug 13, 2019 9:50 AM (in response to jonathan.rajbahadursingh)Hi Jonathan,
A Simple Trick. Do not unclick show headers but instead select the header that you do not wish to see and change it to a blank (delete text). Also edit the axis ticks to none. This should fix it though you will see a blank region. Hope this solves your problem. Best wishes !
Sincerely,Soumitra

Soumitra Godbole Aug 13, 2019 10:05 AM (in response to jonathan.rajbahadursingh)1 of 1 people found this helpfulYou don't have to blank anything as I have suggested an alternate easy method (duplicating a field). Here is a screenshot of a sample worksheet. The idea is that now you can safely hide the Order Date (Copy) shown below without affecting the Order Date field.

jonathan.rajbahadursingh Aug 13, 2019 10:45 AM (in response to Soumitra Godbole)How do you make a copy? If you look in my pivot field names I have it there twice but it doesnt have "(copy)" in it. That could be the issue?

jonathan.rajbahadursingh Aug 13, 2019 12:57 PM (in response to jonathan.rajbahadursingh)i have two "Pivot Field Names" in my columns pane. Hiding show header does not work for me. They both disapear when I unclick show header.

6. Re: Tableau get rid of bottom header. Unclick show headers does not work.
Soumitra Godbole Aug 13, 2019 1:17 PM (in response to jonathan.rajbahadursingh)I wish you had dummy data so this would have been clear long back. Your last reply is that you have two "Pivot Field Names" which is correct (evident from the image screenshot).
What I have suggested all along is that instead of having two "Pivot Field Names" (I believe they are identical or one field), remove one of them and create a duplicate and place the duplicate. Note that the duplicate should have a different name like "Pivot Field Names (Copy)".
Now you will see two headers (up and down) which is similar to what I have shown Order Date / Order Date (copy).
Now click only on the Duplicate field and hide the header (for the duplicate). This way you will see one header but not the other.

8. Re: Tableau get rid of bottom header. Unclick show headers does not work.
Soumitra Godbole Aug 13, 2019 1:48 PM (in response to jonathan.rajbahadursingh)Hi Jonathan,
Here is another attempt and hope it helps. Can't you make up some dummy data (excel/csv file) so I can actually work on the example and paste it here without having to give a lengthy explanation that seems to be getting nowhere.
Anyway here is what I am trying to say:
On the left side of your workbook (not on a dashboard but any worksheet), you have fields, Right click on the field name that says "Pivot field Names" and then select Duplicate which will create a copy.
Once you have created that field, then you need to place that duplicate field on the shelf (replacing one of the "Pivot field Names"). Now you can unclick show headers and it will hide only the header for the duplicate field (without affecting the other). Best of luck !
Sincerely,
Soumitra
