allan.walker.0 Mar 6, 2014 10:24 AM (in response to Shawn Wallwork)OMG lol
The number of times I've been asked in Wal-Mart if I am from Ireland.
Oh...and then "Do you know Jimmy McGregor from Dundee?"
Er...no.
Worse still: people trying to do Braveheart accents...or saying "I'm Scottish you know, my great-great-great Grandad was from there"

Shawn Wallwork Mar 6, 2014 11:22 AM (in response to allan.walker.0)So since we're totally off topic and just talkin' roots and geography....
Trivia Question: There is only one state in our United States that has (and always has had) the letters "USA" on it's license plates; which one? And why?
Side story: I grew up in Los Alamos, and as a teenager I was walking to school and a haggard couple pulled up next to me, rolled down their car window, mashed the open road map out of the way, and he yelled:
"Where's the Fort?"
"I'm sorry sir, what fort?"
"The Alamo!" he nearly screamed.
"Sorry sir, but not only do you have the wrong town, you're in the wrong state."
They started screaming at each other and sped off.
So Allan please forgive my less than perfect understanding of who's who and whats what and where's where in the UK. After all aren't you all British?

PS: Yes that is a true story.

Shawn Wallwork Mar 6, 2014 11:43 AM (in response to allan.walker.0)Give yourself a green star! And the reason is....
"I'm sorry sir, but we don't mail outside the US."
"I'm sorry sir, but we don't take pesos."
... among many others.

Colleen O'Dea Apr 22, 2015 1:23 PM (in response to muthu.krishnan)I'm not sure what the answer to this question was but would love to see it.
I have a dashboard with two maps. Mostly I want to show the US but there is the need to show a little of Canada, Alaska, Mexico and England. The zoom is either too far out so there is whitespace and Africa showing or too close so you can't see all the locations. The latter would be preferred if when a person clicked on a location in one it would zoom in to that on the other map, or if when one is choosing a date range it zoomed to only the locations valid for that range. There may be a way to do this and I just don't know it. If anyone has suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
This is what I'm working with: | Tableau Public
Thanks,
Colleen O'Dea
