Hi Jerry,
This is something we have heard from a couple people and are currently working on a solution but it probably won't be out for a while.
Take care,

Kashish Bhola Apr 8, 2019 10:43 PM (in response to Keshia Rose)Hi Keshia!
So as you told that the solution won't be out for a while, Do we have any workaround for that until then?
As I Experienced that when I'm publishing my report and subscribing it I'm not able to get the latest date but I'm viewing it in Tableau online then it is showing the latest date that too for the time when i'm viewing the report as soon as i come out it again gets to the date for which i published my report.
Also i have used Date parameter.
Regards

Hi Kashish,
It depends on what you need the parameter for, if you just need it to always be equal to today and don't need any end-user interaction then you can create a calculation with TODAY() and use that in your other calculations. If you need the parameter to update to today and still allow end-user interaction you may need to take a more programmatic approach and update the workbook every day, example: Tableau Hack: How to have a Dynamic Date Parameter in Tableau? - Buttigieg.org. One other idea would be to have a separate parameter that determines whether you use the date parameter control for your calculations or use just TODAY() in your calculations, then you would be able to let end users control the dates and still default to today upon opening.
Take care,
Keshia

Christian D'Cruz Apr 29, 2019 2:46 AM (in response to Keshia Rose)Hi Keshia,
Do you have any idea of the timescale for a release of a fix for this subscription + extension problem? Will it be a general solution, i.e. allow extensions to finish updating parameters and/or filter before taking the subscription snapshot?
Is there any sort of known issue id that I can follow in relation to this problem?
Regards

Diego Martinez Aug 8, 2019 6:42 AM (in response to jerry.mathew.0)Jerry, you could use the biztory extension https://extensiongallery.tableau.com/products/26
However, Keshia Rose , I am experiencing the same behaviour reported by Jerry, not only in the Date updater but also in the Data Driven Parameter Extension.
Keshia Rose, does Tableau know about the behaviour on these extensions when using suscriptions (Date Updater and Data Driven Parameter)?, do you know if there will be a solution?
Thanks.
Diego Martinez

Unni Rajendran Dec 2, 2019 12:43 PM (in response to jerry.mathew.0)I'm in the same boat - could really use an extension that updates to latest month (first day of month) but it's currently saying there aren't any date parameters in my workbook when there clearly are.

Etienne Goldstein Dec 11, 2019 10:07 AM (in response to jerry.mathew.0)This is a real hindrance.
Extensions are great.
Subscriptions are great.
It's a real bummer that they don't work when used together!
I really hope this gets prioritized somehow.
