# Sorting Tables

Hi there,

I'm hoping this is relatively easy to do. I want to create a table that I can apply multiple filters to;

There is a column in my data called [Position] and this is a SUM of 1st 2nd and 3rd. What I want to do is create a filter in this order 1st Desc, 2nd Desc, 3rd Desc. So you can see that Livingston having 1 1st place finish should be much higher up.

Can anyone help me?

Hey Andrew,

I have a problem understanding your requirement. You just want to sort by Position 1? If you want to do this, you just need to go next to "position1" and sort it there.

With the Team field included, you can't sort the three position columns descending as the teams have different values for each column.

I hope this helps. If does, please mark it as helpful/correct so other users can refer to it. If it doesn't, could you please further explain your requirement and maybe share your workbook? Thanks!

Best,

Diego

Hi,

Not quite, the measure [position] has three results, 1, 2 and 3. The current sort is an aggregation of the total number. What I want to do is sort [position] so it goes in order of 1,2 and 3 not the total of all three. so therefore it looks like this;

At the moment the closest I can get is this;

Hi,

That's working perfectly now thank you! One final question; how do I adapt this further so that blanks/NULLS in this table are displayed as 0? That would really round it off!

Hi, Andrew

use ZN(Lookup(sum([Number of Records]),0)) instead the sum([Number of records]) in the text

Yeah unfortunately ZN(Lookup(sum([Number of Records]),0)) does this;

Hi, Andrew

Please find my alternative way to show 0s.

Let me know if it works or not.

Hi there,

I now have a finished dashboard and although this tip works when all the data is displayed, changing filters and parameters seems to have no effect on the order. Can you help? The dashboard is here
