You'll have to be a LOT more specific than that. What are you trying to do?
Tableau is completely different from those other tools - tell us what you're trying to accomplish and we'll help you figure out how to do it.

From what I've understood, Tableau Rest API is for when I want to read data from Tableau Server.
What I want to do is to load data into Tableau from another web application, through a GET method of it's REST web service.
Did you look at the links I provided? The Web Data Connector is Tableau's method for connecting to web-based data sources that expose their data via an API. Is that not what you want?
Tableau Server does indeed have a REST API, but it is mostly for manipulating Tableau Server itself. It is NOT used to do outbound manipulation of anything.
