You can do a Join using a Calculated field as well as shown below. It is the last option you have in the list where you write your calculation. You can do this on both sides of the data source.
You can Blend but only those data that are in the Primary Data source will be available, it acts like a left join. So you will end up getting nulls.
To answer your question better, can you post a sample data by masking sensitive information and let us know what you are trying to achieve. Just a handful of records in excel should do / if you have worked on a workbook already and if you can share; we have great folks here in this community who can guide you.
