thanks for replying. Yes, this looks good, but can it be like central, east, west, south be side besides for the same month? And we can get 4 lines on top.....is that possible?
Thanks,
Arnab

arnab dasgupta Nov 1, 2018 1:12 PM (in response to Akram Ebrahim)Hi Akram,
thanks a lot for all your efforts. This looks good too, but I would have liked the axis to be only one ie from Jan to december and bar's all side beside for each month. Your chart have months repeated, I wouldn't like that. Comparison becomes difficult in that case. From my chart, I want all of them to be shown together on common x axis from Jan to December and maybe profit to be shown as line on top of that. The bars look like this. Problem is drawing 4 lines on top of this for dual axis. I am just thinking of options, if its possible or not.

arnab dasgupta Nov 1, 2018 2:45 PM (in response to Akram Ebrahim)Hi Akram,
please see my first chart. It will be better if there are 4 lines, each for each region, not 12 lines as above one for each month.
Thanks,
Arnab

We are splitting the graph month on month so the trend will not come as expected. Either you have to change approach or put the 4 line charts in different charts and combine them in the dashboard

2 of 2 people found this helpfulIf you are using the newest release of Tableau Desktop (2018.3) we now have transparency available to us when building dashboards.
So, you might try building the bar graph as you want it, and then in a separate viz build the line graph the way you want it, then layer the line graph over the bar graph in the dashboard, making the line graph a transparent background.
That is a LOT of data to show at once in a single view, however. I would be cleaner to show the bars and lines as 2 separate entities on a single dashboard.
