Minimum sum

Hi Community

without using window min or max

how do i use a LOD to return the minimum sum for each year for the 4 regions ?

i wrote

{ FIXED DATETRUNC('year', [Order Date]): Min([Sales])}

and the results come back 1s or 0s.... which cannot be

it should be

2015: 103,838

2016: 71,360

2017: 93,610

2018: 122,906

so what went wrong ?

Good morning

see the attached

you needed to include region in the initial LOD and then nest that in a second lod on order date

and it returns this

or at the year level this

BTW if you are going to TC18 set up a Braindate - I'll be doing a session on LOD's

Thanks Jim

I wish I could go for the conference, but nope not able to.

You able to share notes after the conference about what you presented ? I am very keen…

Thanks

Brainddates are 1 on 1 sessions - so there is not a set notes per say -

Jim

See attached workbook

I am attempting to create a circle dot on against the line chart to show the minimum sales across the 4 regions, seems nothing shows up…

Am I missing something ?

Hi Gavin

Not certain I get what you are asking - you changed the formula I gave you

this

Produces the min across all 4 regions by year

and will results in this chart

is that what you wanted?

Jim

BTW I attached a presentation I made on LOD's at a tug meeting in Nashville

Thanks for the presentation.

Not quite what I wanted to achieve,

Attached is the screen shot showing an example what I would like to achieve.

Basically the max sales of each region in the 4 years…
