# Year over year growth

I have posted a line chart below that shows a running sum of daily tax receipts.  Running sums for different years are currently set up so that you can see where you are in one year compared to the last.  To accomplish this I used makedate function so the fiscal years could be compared side-by-side.  However, I can't seem to figure out how to create a calculated field or some other method to display the growth rate of different taxes for each data point. Does anyone know how I can make that work?  Do I need to set this up differently or is there a way to set up a calculated field?

I've gotten this to work in other circumstances, but I must be missing something in this workbook.  A link to the document is available below.  Thanks

Hi GeneNurns

I'm not quite gotten what you want.

Are you talking about specific worksheet in you book or it's not created?

Could you illustrate what is current issue and what is your expectations.

Thanks,

Shin

I'm trying to get the correct growth rate (shown as 1205.7%, this is not correct) in the chart linked to above (photo shown below). Previously I've used the formula below and computed on the cash fiscal year, but that isn't working with this setup.  Does this help?

(LOOKUP([Running Sum],0)-LOOKUP([Running Sum],-1))/LOOKUP([Running Sum],-1)

Which sheet is this in your book?

Sheet 14 already has right value

With this table calc setting

Sheet 14

Seems like kind of bug on public. it shows incorrect value on your link.  but

With changing the table calc to this way, public on my page shows correct value,.

I'd like to compare a date in 2019 to a date in 2018.  So I'm computing using the prior fiscal year and getting 1205.7%.

I must have published a version calculating using table across. That isn't my goal.

Confused, what's the right value?

Shin, I think I figured this out.  I needed to change the nested table calculation for "running sum" within the year over year value.  I'm going to do some double checking and mark this as answered.  Thanks!
