# Percentage goes over 700%

Hi guys, how are you?

I am having a little problem, as you can see below I am trying to do a column where is possible to see the percentage of the "factor" on my "WAvg Utility" (variable created in tableau as sum(variable1)/sum(variable2)). Is it possible to have them set on 100% and not on 900%? Is it also possible to set filters and keep the 100% structure?

Simone • ###### 1. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

Does it have to be a stacked bar chart only? If no, you may want to put the factor in Columns, and then fix the axis from 0 to 100.

• ###### 2. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

Yes, the structure needs to stay how it is in the picture unfortunately.

• ###### 3. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

In such a case, the weight average values may need to be recomputed so that your total stays at 100%. If you can provide your packaged workbook (twbx), I can look into it.

This is the workbook!

Thanks a lot for your help!!

• ###### 5. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

You need to attach the packaged workbook, with twbx extension. I cannot open a twb file.

Sorry, here it is!

• ###### 7. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

here it is, sorry

Hi,

You can try this,

{FIXED [Attribute type],[HO],[Factor]:SUM([Weighted Utility score])}

/

{FIXED [Attribute type],[HO],[Factor]:SUM([Weight])}

Note: Put your filters on context then apply table calculation (% of total) on above calculated field and check.

Let us know if this work.

• ###### 10. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

Sorry, now you have the twbx!

• ###### 11. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

But then it is not possible to put the results in percentage with sum = 100%

• ###### 12. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

The problem is that more variable could be added, and every time modify can be really time consumng, do you know if there is a more universal way where it is not directly correlated with the filters?

thanks a lot,

S

• ###### 13. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

Furthermore, I saw that when I am not using one variable (I am selecting: all), the percentage it is not completely correct it vary of more or less 1% from the one that actualy should be

• ###### 14. Re: Percentage goes over 700%

"More variable could be added": Do you mean to say dimension filters?

If so then use include instead of fixed. Give a try and let me know if this help

{INCLUDE :SUM([Weighted Utility score])}

/

{INCLUDE :SUM([Weight])}

Also if possible attach some screenshot of your expected result post applying any filter or adding any dimension filter.
