# Show most recent rows per person

Dear all,

I would like to create a table from the following Excel file. In the Excel file, you can see the person and the date when a call is placed and the recipient. I was wondering whether we could create a table with the most recent calls per person.

I would like to know a formula that would allow me to achieve this.

From the Excel file, we would get the following table:

PersonDate
Recipient
Jim03-01-2017Joris
Henk07-02-2017Helena
Piet04-01-2016Sophie

Hi Thijs,

Calculate max date for each person.

max date: {fixed [person]: max([date])}

Then create one more calculated field,

Filter: if [date]=[max date] then 1 else 0 end

place this field to filters shelf and select 1.

Hope this helps.

Hello Thijs,

It took 2 formulas but I was able to do it. Hope this helps

First I created a formula to give the latest (maximum) call placed for each person:

Then I created another formula that gave the recipient if they were the latest call or null:

I put these all on the rows shelf and then filtered the nulls from Last Recipient -Calc :
