Can you provide a screenshot of the error message you are seeing with the details expanded? That may help diagnosing the issue. You might also want to create clean desktop logs and then recreate the issue to see if you can identify where the problem lies.
To answer your second question, Tableau Technical Support can be engaged via this link: Submit a case to our support team | Tableau Software
Hope this helps!
I believe this is related to the issue identified here:
I will create the clean desktop logs and summarize my findings to the support team.
Hi Gregor, have you created a ticket in the end?
I have the same error, using Tableau 10.5. Before I was using 10.4 and it was crashing the entire workbook.
The reason why it happened is that I was using a logscale for my x-axis and some values are 0.
When I converted the x axis it said that some values were NULL, and asked me if I wanted to filter them out. After selecting that option, however the metric appeared in the Filters Shelf, but in red. And the chart disappeared.
If I selected to allow NULL values at an arbitrary point, and then adding the metric to the Filters Shelf myself it gave the error you mentioned:
"The filtering operation did not complete successfully because of an unexpected error.
Field 'usr:Calculation_660973641421312001:qk' which is included for filtering does not exist."
I ended up creating a calculated filed which is NULL if my metric is 0 and used that as a filter.
Not an ideal solution...
