    How are the "Who has seen this view?" stats generated?

      At the bottom of a View is the link "Who has seen this view?":

      When you click on it you get a "report" that shows some viewing info about the specific view:

      I've been over and over the public.historical_events table in the Tableau Server db and the numbers just aren't coinciding with what's here (which is what is in the public._views_stats (and what is public.view_stats?))!


      How is the information created?  What is the process, where is the data collected from?  I have a user responsible for a growing set of reports and he needs to know who is seeing what and historical when.


      I understand this is unsupported and will likely go unanswered but it highlights the lack of admin functionality Tableau Server has.  Very frustrating!
