1. Re: Need to open each URL Link in a seperate tab
Russell Christopher Nov 4, 2012 2:15 PM (in response to deepak.ujania)Hi Deepak -
The parameters that are automatically added to your URL when you generate a scriptlet from the "Share" button do this automatically. (:target=_blank), to be specific.
Maybe you just didn't notice a new tab opening because your browser's pop-up blocker got in the way?
I'm attaching an HTML page which works for me in Chrome, IE, and FF.

deepak.ujania Nov 4, 2012 7:48 PM (in response to Russell Christopher)Appreciate your Reply Russell Christopher.
The first time I click on the link it definitely opens a new window but subsequent clicks on other links will open in the same new window.. I need 3 separate tabs or windows when I click on the links so that I can go to each window for reference.
I want something like this in the image below . 3 nice new windows for each URL actions

Jambeswar Mahapatra Aug 5, 2015 9:02 PM (in response to deepak.ujania)Same issue with me as well .. search around every where.. use :linktarget=_Blank But this didn;t help.
If you click on the individual URL action item from your tableau desktop it is working fine ..every individual link opening in separate tab but once you published the dashboard ... first link will open in different tab but all subsequent link override the newone ... No luck as of now..

7. Re: Need to open each URL Link in a seperate tab
Steve Scivally May 24, 2016 11:21 AM (in response to Russell Christopher)This looks to be pretty old, but still not answered. I have the same patterns others have mentioned; the first URL action opens a new tab, but any subsequent URL action opens in the 'same' new tab replacing what was loaded.

Aditya Agarwal Sep 28, 2017 4:26 AM (in response to deepak.ujania)Hi all ,
The Solution to this problem is fairly simple and i just found it out .
All you need to do is that Add ?:embed=yes&:linktarget=_blank at the end of the browser URL or in the final link which you have after publishing the report on Tableau online or Tableau server .
For more info you all can refer to this thread :
Opening Links In Separate Browser Windows or Tabs | Tableau Software

Aditya Agarwal Sep 28, 2017 7:28 AM (in response to nawazuddin mohammed)Hi Nawazuddin ,
You don't need to do any changes in the URL actions, The only change you need to do is that you need to append it in the final link which we get after publishing the report to tableau server /online

Maarten Conings Jan 12, 2018 12:19 AM (in response to deepak.ujania)Any solution for this found?
I tried addling the &:linktarget=_blank but the result was the same. All URL opens in the same tab (after the first URL is opened), not in a new tab.
