# group by on table.

Hi all,

I am newbie to tableau .I am doing some calculation on my table where i have columns like this:

 Days required for approval Month Invoice Raised) 7 5 13 2 8 5 9 6 14 1 6 1 5 1 5 5 5 3 13 3 6 2 12 3 11 3 8 4 7 1 9 6 11 4 15 6 12 2 10 2 13 2

I want to find sum of value for all corresponding months like we have value for January(1) and corresponding values are 14,6,5 and 7(from days required for approval column).please help me in finding the solution of my query.

Start with the introductory videos to Tableau - Tableau Training and Tutorials

This is a very straight forward question and I suspect you're asking questions before you've learnt the basics on the tool.

the answer is, drag in your dimension (Month) then create a SUM on the Days field.

It looks to me like you need to change your 'Month Invoice Raised' to a dimension, rather than a measure.  Also, if you are looking for an average, you'll want to change the aggregation on 'Days Required For Approval' from a sum to an avg.

Now  I got my answer ,thanks for the solution. After converting month invoice raised measure to dimension I got my desired result.
