I've started working on ways to improve the response time of my dashboards and extracts I publish on Tableau On-line.
Are there any resources out there that give guidelines for workbook and extract sizes that perform the best on Tableau On-line?
I've been using Alteryx to optimize my Tableau tde files before publishing them. This has helped me make the file sizes smaller and I have seen some improvements.
What I'm noticing now is when I try to author a simple dashboard online there is still a little lag time after each click. The extract size is about 500 MB that has about 2.2 million records in it.
Is the size of my extract the reason I'm seeing the lag between clicks?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
How big of a delay are we talking about? Generally when doing things on a browser, there will be a slight lag on clicks. Have you tried publishing a simple workbook just using superstore data and comparing the performance?
