They're from Interworks, you may have seen their (very good) blog posts
They are also members on the forum > A special thanks to the community
Agree, power tools = missing functionality
Just wondering why there was not any mention of the following:
Donna, this is great! I see the similarities with Marks original which I have downloaded. Can you estimate how long this took you to put together?
Hi Tracey. Thanks for the comments. It was a bit of a labour of love (as I'm quite a perfectionist). Just getting data from our own system to display using Mark's workbook was simple. The majority of time was spent in deciding the layout/views I wanted instead and what images to use. A lot of the objects/text you see on the initial page are images created in PowerPoint (as per Mark Jackson's suggestion), so these need to be of particular sizes to fit the display I wanted, and if I tweaked things, then often the images needed to be recreated (I am not an expert in this area, so it may be much simpler for someone else). I was also keen to release this landing page complete with a supporting 'knowledge base' for my users to reference. While the support page I displayed was very simple to put together (again just a series of images with url links on them), the content behind each link (authored in our SharePoint system) also took some time to get together. This was also partly due to the fact that I didn't have 100% of my time focussed on producing this - it was all done when I could fit it in around other priorities.
So I'd estimate if I'd spent all my time solely on the initial landing page with no other distractions, I'd have done it within a week. The support page construction itself took a couple of hours. The content behind the support page took 2-3 weeks to get together.
Hope that helps!
New bee to tableau and need your help on the below requirement.
I need to add a legal disclosure as first page to a dashboard and when user clicks OK only then we need to go to dashboard.
Dashboard which i created in desktop will be published to the server . I need to share the server link to the users with the above requirement.
Please help me on this.
Hi Naveen -
Tableau isn't really extensible in the way you want it to be - you generally can't inject additional pages into the portal and "force" a user to interact with them before moving on.
In your shoes, I'd modify the login page (Google: "Modify Tableau Server login page" or something similar) and add a statement that says 'By logging into this system you agree to <legal disclaimer>.
You could also attempt to add some sort of a page to each and every one of your dashboards and give users pointers to that page instead of the dashboard, but it would be clumsy and not foolproof.
Hi, Can u please share this workbook with me..? I am looking for creating search bar in my landing page but some how unable to do.
Can u pls share on how you created it. Much Thanks !
