Resource not found is very generic error in Tableau, it mostly occured when user don't have access or file/url is not valid in document.
Thanks for the response!
I know it is very generic error message. As I mentioned earlier “the Users are complaining that links are not working, but the real issue is that they don’t have access”.
I am just exploring if we can change the default error message “Resource not found” to a customized message like “ Please apply Access” something like this.
Thanks for the information!
did someone already find a solution to solve this issue or is it still not possible?
Any solution for this? Even we have same requirement..Please help on this
Is it that you have folks loading views as Guests on Tableau Server, and then they encounter this msg?
If so, there are a couple of options you could consider...
(Note, as far as I'm aware its not possible to edit the wording of the msg to 'Please apply for access' or something similar)
As a Tableau System Administrator, log in to Tableau Server and temporarily disable the Guest account. This will force Tableau Server to properly authenticate permissions to view the Share URL. For more information about Guest accounts, see Guest User in the Online Help.
Regenerate the URL via the Share option on the View and re-share it with the persons receiving the error.
We do have the same requirement, any updates for this in latest release of 2018.3.3 features or later 2019 ??
We currently have this same requirement for customisable error messages as well. Is anyone able to provide an update on whether this will be featured in an upcoming release or if this feature is already available?
