Hi, thanks for the help.
i need the data to be displayed in the following format - y - axis - user IDs, x axis - time in seconds (30 second chunks). And the bars respresnting the start of the patients journey (ie. first time they logged on on the left side, followed by the 2nd page ...going to the right - the last time they visited) - the bar is coloured according to which page they visited - and the size of the coloured segment depends on how long they spent on the website. Here is an example from a research paper someone else did - They used R to do this. I'm a medical doctor so have no idea how to use R or other complicated languages i'm afraid.
This is what is have managed to get with tableau: it shows the users, the webpages they visited, but unfortunately - displays the hits to that page by that user, rather than time they spent on the page, also it doesn't seem to be in order - i.e. first webpage visited isnt the displayed on the left.
Thanks, someone suggested i use Tableau, but it may be that its not the right software? please bear in mind im a medic - so all this is alien to me!
Thank you so much for your help, it is very much appreciated.
Your chart i similar to what i am trying to get, but the sizes of each coloured segment doesnt seem to represent the actual time spent on the page? for example user 446 - spent 23 seconds on that one page he visited - but the size of his bar isnt representative (and when you hover over it - it states it is 1 second). Likewise user 516 spent about 1000 seconds visiting a few pages, but tableau seems to only diplays the hits per page?
I am wondering if i need to format my data so that it shows
1st page visited, help with diabetes, 30 secs,
2nd page visited, help with diet, 68 secs,
3rd page and so on
Would that sort it out?
Thanks again for your help,
